Diabetes is an epidemic! An estimated 5 million people in the UK live with diabetes today and this number is rising. It can happen to anyone! By 2045, it is expected that 1 in 10 of us will be affected by diabetes.

 

What is Type 2 Diabetes?

Diabetes is a lifelong condition that causes a person’s blood sugar level to become too high. With Type 2 Diabetes, the body does not produce enough insulin or the body’s cells do not react to insulin.

 

Did you know that diabetes can severely limit your quality of life by causing heart disease, chronic kidney disease, nerve damage, vision and hearing loss, mental health issues and limb loss?
