What is a Full Body MOT?

Otherwise known as your Wellness Score

Just because you don’t feel pain, just because nothing hurts, it doesn’t mean you are well. Lack of symptoms or feeling good is not an effective barometer to measure your health.

You can’t simply measure your health just by saying you feel fine. Who doesn’t have an example of someone they know who was ‘as strong as an ox’ and then dropped dead the next day? What goes on inside can be very well masked by what you see on the outside.

So how do you find out what is going on in the inside?

That’s where our Full Body MOT, otherwise known as the wellness score comes into play.

This is part of our brand new 8 weeks to wellness plan, where your biomarkers of health are assessed. These are measured on a scoring system which measures your physiology and function. You will receive a grade which is from A right through to F


Here is the outline of what the Wellness Score measures and what this all means:

Body Mass Index

We’ve all heard of BMI? It’s a measure of height and weight. You need to be below 30 against this score otherwise you have an increased risk of some of the biggest killers around, including diabetes, obesity related conditions, heart disease and cancer.


Posture Number

You may find it unbelievable when you see a digital photo of your posture. We will assess you from the front and from the side through digital photographs. The reason for this is because your posture is determined by the positioning of your spine and this determines what is happening in your nervous system. When you see the photos maps against a perfect alignment you will see right away what is going wrong.


Core Strength and Flexibility

Your core is the secret to strength, so we need to test its flexibility. There are 8 different ways in which we test this. Lifestyle choices today mean that our bodies do not get any where near enough movement.


Your percentage of Body Fat

This measurement isn’t about how much weight you put on, it’s about the percentage of your body that is fat. You may be slimmer than you used to be, but if your fat percentage is higher you will be less healthy. This can be a great way to determine how well we are ageing.

An interesting fact is that one pound of muscle burns 3 times as many calories as one pound of fat, yet takes up half the space on your body. This can give us a great indication of how WELL you are


Heart rate variability

Our heart rate variability test measures how well your nervous system is operating. It tells us how you react to your environment. As chiropractors, we use the spine and nervous system to get you to your optimum health level, so this test helps us measure your nervous system.
